The Pound Keeper

The Pound Keeper is the part of me that pays attention to what gets lost, overlooked, abandoned, unfinished, or misunderstood. Animals, ideas, people, projects, all of it. This site is where those worlds connect.

I keep the pound in a small corner of Western Massachusetts. Lost dogs, stray cats, lobby cats, feral cats, surrenders, any and all the animals that need somebody to care for them. Somewhere along the way the job became a way of seeing everything else.

The same instinct runs through everything I build. Hike With Cats started as walks in the woods with a cat and turned into a whole philosophy of slowing down. My Cartoon Pet uses AI to turn real pets into clean cartoon art. Keeping Up With The Robots helps regular people around here figure out what to do with all this new machinery. None of it was supposed to fit together. All of it does.

I know something about second chances because I needed one. I got sober, rebuilt the parts of my life that needed rebuilding, and learned that becoming useful again is its own kind of work. I don’t preach about it. It’s just in everything now: the animals, the tools, the writing, the watching.
